Running taught me so many new ways to explore myself. My capability, my inner power, how far I can push myself, how far my mind can push myself!
My name is Anju Yadav and I am 40 years old. I am a daughter, a wife and a mother of teenage daughter. My life was as simple as of any other housewife. Living for her family, doing her regular work. But always that zest was there to do something for myself. Then I choose yoga and running! Yoga came 4 years back in my life, I studied and got my certification as a yoga teacher. And now I take classes and inspire people to do yoga. Then last year in 2017 running came in my life.
I started with 2k. Initially I got drained. But, then running gives me new challenges. It gives me the motivation to do more and perform good. I gradually increased my distance, 2 to 5 km. From 5 to 10k. And here I am now with 4 half marathons, more than twenty 10k.
I also started trail running! I ran 28 km in 6 hours!
Now my new aim is 1 full marathon and 1 ultrarun of 50 km.
Hope I will do them by the end of this year.
Running taught me so many new ways to explore myself. My capability, my inner power, how far I can push myself, how far my mind can push myself, how pain can be beautifully satisfying, how sweat can be more shinier than any other makeup, how pic with hard earned finishers medal can be awesome than selfies we put!
I know I am a slow runner but running gives me chances to improve myself each time!
Running is a journey of self betterment.. A new chance to do better than my yesterday.
I am glad that running came in my life and I hope it will stay with me forever!
2017 completed…2018 in the making!
